Better Days

For the past 2 weeks my dad has been in the hospital. It's been a journey shared by family and loved ones.....a rollercoaster of emotions: feelings of worry, feelings of relief, feelings of exhaustion, and feelings of hope. Today my dad has been taking the steps towards recovery. He was transferred to Telemetry from the CCU and has been making steady progress. I'm grateful for these better days. Today he was able to walk with the Physical Therapist to the door and is able to sit upright in a chair. I'm so proud and happy for him (Not just as a physical therapist myself....just as a daughter who wants him home). I know if he is able to walk to the nurses station, I'm sure it will prove he will be ready to come home soon. I want to say that I have such an admiration for my mom and my brother, who is able to be there for my dad. I've witnessed their loving care, the sacrifices made, the exhaustion they endure for him. I'm so grateful for them for all that they have been doing, and I think of them often and wish I can have more time to be there to take some of that exhaustion off their shoulders.

Dad- We love you...keep it up. Emily is rehearsing the harmonica and tamborine for you when you come home. We'll see you soon...it's so good to see you smile.

Yes, there are "better days" ahead for Rudy and for all of you. Once he is home, he will heal twice as fast as he is surround by loved ones and familiar surroundings. Prayers are said daily in our home for him. I will put his name on the Redlands Temple in a couple of days again, as the two weeks is almost up from when I first place it on the Prayer Roll.
